Jiuzhaigou Valley
Listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage since 1992, Jiuzhaigou is famous for its "Six Wonders," including the crystal water, terraced waterfalls, colorful forests, snow-capped peaks, Tibetan culture, and gem-like lakes. Covering 64297 hectares in land size, Jiuzhaigou is located in the transitional area between Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Sichuan Basin with a huge elevation gap. Jiuzhaigou has rich plant resources with 2576 species of higher plants including 74 species of rare and precious plants under national protection, and more than 400 species of lower plants. As a nature reserve set up to protect giant pandas and their companion animals, Jiuzhaigou is a perfect site to enjoy extraordinary scenery and look for a great variety of endemic plants in China.
