Your journey begins in Kunming, the “Spring City,” where you will explore the bustling Dounan Flower Market and witness the dynamic floral trade at the Kunming International Flower Auction. From there, we venture to Yuxi to visit renowned flower farms, discovering the delicate art of flower cultivation in China’s floriculture hubs.

Traveling along the historic Tea Horse Road, we reach Pu’er, a city steeped in tea culture. Here, you will explore the charming Tea Horse Ancient Town and follow the trails of ancient caravans that once carried tea across Asia. Continuing south, we enter Xishuangbanna, where tropical gardens, vibrant Dai culture, and unique plant species come to life. We will explore the legendary Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, home to an incredible array of orchids and rare tropical plants in full bloom.

D1: Arrival in Kunming. Meals: D

Arrive in Kunming and enjoy a warm welcome. Relax after your journey and enjoy a welcome dinner.

Overnight: Vienna Hotel

D2: Kunming. Meals: BLD

Start your day by visiting the vibrant Dounan Flower Market, followed by a visit to the Kunming International Flower Auction and Trading Center.

Overnight: Vienna Hotel

D3: Kunming – Yuxi. Meals: BLD

Travel to Yuxi and explore two major flower bases: Jiuxi Base of Jiahai Flower Industry and Yuxi Dritel Flower Co., Ltd. (or any other flower bases you wish to visit).

D4: Yuxi – Pu'er. Meals: BLD

Head to the Tea Horse Ancient Town in the morning, where you can try traditional caravan food and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. In the afternoon, visit the Tea Horse Road and take in the rich history.

D5: Pu'er – Xishuangbanna. Meals: BLD

After breakfast, drive to Xishuangbanna and visit Manting Park and Zongfo Temple. In the afternoon, experience the Dai ethnic culture with water-splashing activities at the Dai Ethnic Garden, and explore the Starlight Night Market in the evening.

D6: Xishuangbanna. Meals: BLD

Spend the day at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden. Explore both the Western and Eastern areas, where you’ll see a variety of rare orchids and tropical plants in full bloom. Among the plants in peak flowering season are the extremely rare Myristica yunnanensis**, Dendrobium wattii**, and various precious orchids, including Paphiopedilum purpuratum**, Paphiopedilum wardii**, Paphiopedilum villosum**, and Paphiopedilum spicerianum**. You will also encounter uniquely shaped plants such as Agapetes burmanica** and Strongylodon macrobotrys**.

D7: Xishuangbanna. Meals: BLD

Visit the Wild Elephant Valley in the morning for an elephant show. In the afternoon, explore the Liuguo Floating Market and immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions.

After graduation, he even spent more time in the wild than office exploring wildflowers in Sichuan and nearby provinces with other nature lovers and photographed about two thousand wildflower species. He even found several new distributions of some endemic species and even some new species of plants along with some other nature lovers. He loves to share his findings and stories behind the photos with other nature lovers on the internet and became a “flora idol” in southwest China. He never expected becoming famous out of this, he just enjoys sharing the beauty of those lovely flowers with others.

Bella, the director of AlpineBirding, was graduated from Sichuan Agricultural University with a Bachelor's Degree. Her interests toward birds started with her observation of a Long-tailed Minivet in her mom’s garden at a very young age.
